Twenty-five of Australia’s most promising apprentices and trainees are about to embark on an intensive career development program that will help equip them as future leaders.

The National Apprentice Employment Network’s ‘Today’s Skills: Tomorrow’s Leaders’ (TSTL) program brings together outstanding apprentices and trainees selected from across Australia.
It comprises 20 apprentices and trainees selected by Group Training Organisations (GTOs) and five finalists from the 2023 Australian Training Awards.

All the participants are regarded as emerging leaders in their fields. They are engaged in sectors including, electrical, business, plumbing, health, project management and automotive.

The week-long intensive residential program will run in Canberra from 3-8 November and will be officially launched by the Governor-General, Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC.

The TSTL program commenced in 2004 and has seen more than 250 apprentices and trainees participate. TSTL is facilitated by career development professionals and focuses on identifying strengths, skills and capabilities in order to develop leadership potential.

TSTL is supported and funded by the National Careers Institute, within the Commonwealth Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR).

NAEN Chief Executive Officer Dianne Dayhew said the program provides a unique opportunity to help identify emerging leaders and assist them to develop additional skills and prepare for future leadership.
